Lewisham-born central-defender Aaron Barnet was signed by Colin Lippiatt in October 2005 following a short spell with Carshalton Athletic. He featured in just eleven games for the Saints before being released the following January but enjoyed a good return of seven wins in that time. Aaron started his career with Kent League side VCD before playing for Furness and then Erith & Belvedere where he made over 100 appearance. Joining Gravesend & Northfleet in February 2000, he played against St Albans five times whilst with the Kent club and was on the winning side each time. He was a member of the Gravesend side that won the Isthmian League and Kent Senior Cup in 2002. Signed for Bishop’s Stortford in 2003 (two games against the Saints) and then moved onto Margate a year later where he again played in two games against the City. Aaron lifted the Kent Senior Cup for a second time in 2005 but left in the summer to join Carshalton Athletic and the onto Clarence Park. After leaving St Albans he joined Hampton & Richmond Borough but missed all of the 2006-07 season after suffering a broken leg in a pre-season match. He returned to action for the 2007-08 season and had stints with Walton Casuals, Slade Green, Molesey and Beckenham before retiring in 2009. In 2012 he was involved in coaching with the youth set-up at Charlton Athletic. (With thanks to Margate Football Club).
