Nick Eyre
Joined St Albans City in the summer of 2007 from Conference National champions Dagenham & Redbridge. Signed for Dagenham in January 2007 after making 19 First team appearances for Rushden & Diamonds having started the 2006-07 season as first choice custodian at Nene Park. An England U15 and U17 international who, in addition for playing for Tottenham Hotspur at various Youth levels also made ten appearances for the Reserves. His first taste of non-league football came with Grays Athletic, firstly on loan and then on a permanent deal. Popular with supporters, he won three Player of the Month awards at St Albans, whilst during November he saved a penalty against Braintree in a Setanta Shield tie and followed it with two more during the penalty shoot-out. Fell out of favour in the New Year and rejoined Grays on loan during March. Had his pre-Christmas form come during the second half rather than first half of the season then he would almost certainly have collected the player of the Season trophy.
