“REVENGE !”At Clarence Park on Saturday, St Albans City avenged their defeat of four clear goals earlier in the season by the Polytechnic by defeating that team by the only goal of the match. The Polytechnic had brought a strong team that proved to be worthy opponents, so much so that at times it would not have been surprising to have seen them repeat their victory, though not by the same margin.
On the whole the game was rather scrappy. Vigorously opposed all through, the City always seemed to be making efforts to get into their stride and when at intervals they did so, there was some very bright football. |
