Played as an amateur for Watford Corinthians, St Albans City, Watford, Charlton Athletic, Millwall, Barnet, Clapton and Chesham Hampstead Town. Turned professional for Queens Park Rangers in 1926 before retiring in 1927.
He made his City debut on 17th September 1921 and made 141 appearances, scoring 41 goals, his last appearance coming on 28th November 1925.
