A latecomer into the full professional game when the attacking midfielder was signed by QPR in the summer of 2001 from Dr Martens Eastern side Fisher Athletic. Hamid had been on the books at Millwall and Crystal Palace as a youngster but then had spells with Welling United, Sutton United, Crockenhill and Erith & Belvedere before joining Fisher in October 1999 via a second stint at Crockenhill. Things didn`t quite work out at QPR, and he was released at the end of the 2001/02 season. Signed for St Albans City in August 2002, switched back to Fisher Athletic in early October and then joined Conference outfit Gravesend just a week or so later. Signed for Tonbridge in December 2002. Returned to Fisher in February 2004 after resigning as joint manager at Tonbridge.
